Enforcement Case Search

General Instructions and Advice

Please use the following steps to search for enforcement cases:

1. If you know the Council reference number (or part of it), enter it below. Alternatively you can use any of the fields below to narrow the search down. Please note that at least one field must be completed.
2. Select the 'Search' button to search for cases.
3. For specific help on searching, hover over the appropriate question mark.

You can contact the enforcement section directly with a complaint using the online complaint form which allows you to add relevant documents and photographs.

Such notices are displayed in accordance with statute as part of the register of Enforcement and Stop Notices.

Contravention Number

This should be entered in the same way that it is displayed on the Council’s correspondence e.g. 2010/0160/M Alternatively, you can search on part of the number (e.g. 0160 will display results for “2010/0160” and all other years with such a number.

Location

When searching for an address you will need to include punctuation (commas) in the address e.g. 4, High Street, Barry. You do not need to enter the full address, a search may run on just part of the address e.g. “Rose Cottage” Be aware that when searching on part of an address, this may pick up unrelated applications which are not relevant to your search.

Description

Enter one or more words to find enforcement cases for specific types of complaints (e.g. agricultural occupancy). Note that this search is wholly dependent upon the description used by the complainant, and is therefore unlikely to provide comprehensive results.

Please select a breach code Breach of Condition (Use) Breach of Condition (Development) Breach of Previously Served Enforcement Notice Breach of Temporary Consent High Hedges Complaint HMO (House in Multiple Occupation) Monitor Planning Permissions Other Unauthorised Change of Use Unauthorised Demolition Unauthorised Development Unauthorised Engineering / Other Operation Unauthorised Removal of Hedge Unauthorised Tipping Unauthorised Tree Felling Unauthorised Works to Article 4 (Property Within Conservation Area) Unlawful Advertisements Unlawful Works to Listed Building Untidy Land or Buildings Contrary to Section 215 of the Act

Using the drop-down box, choose a Breach Type, for example “Unlawful Advertisements” will show all applications that have been / are being investigated for unlawful advertisements.
