The proposed development fails to comply with the guidelines within the adopted Vale of Glamorgan Planning Departments Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) documents, entitled Residential and Householder Development and Parking Standards in terms of amenity space and on site car parking.
The current redevelopment of the Saint Barucs Church appears to be an overdevelopment of a constrained site.
The current proposals are considered premature in nature and totally unsatisfactory, as the applicant should primarily consider the conversion of the existing Church building structure to apartments to comply with Vale of Glamorgan Planning guidance to ensure the safeguarding of the character and existing street scene of the area.
