I wish to object to the proposed development. I can understand the need for increased housing but not retail units. Dinas Powys is already well served with retail outlets which have dedicated delivery access and parking. This proposal allows no dedicated delivery area and minimal customer parking with access onto an already highly congested main road. This will mean delivery parking on double yellow lines on either a very busy main road after a blind bend or in a cul de sac with limited access. Orchard Crescent will become de facto a parking place for 'convenience' shoppers with the subsequent limited access for residents, emergency vehicles and refuse collection. As residents of the Crescent we have had to suffer the parking and access problems associated with the previous Health Centre so we are aware of the problems it causes. Traffic is already at a standstill on Cardiff Road at most times of the day and this development will only add to the traffic and safety problems.
