I object for 4 reasons; 1/ Though A1 covers several retail categories, the indication is that it?s a convenience store. I strongly question the need for this. 100m along Cardiff Road is a Nisa store & a Spar & also Tesco is located 500m away. 2/ The siting of such a store with limited off road parking on a busy main road (unlike the 3 mentioned) will cause major traffic management issues close to a major junction & school. 3/ I?m deeply concerned about the absence of an off road delivery bay. It indicates that goods vehicles will use the adjacent residential cul-de-sac to turn, park & offload, which is a safety & access concern (NB, both Tesco and Nisa have dedicated back entrance off road bays) 4/ Orchard Crescent will become a car park again! For decades it was used extensively by visitors to the health centre and it will be again, now by customers (& up to 11pm also!) 8 spaces is inadequate & the access onto a main road will result, behaviourally, in the side street being chosen.
