We do not object to an extension and accept that development on this site is likely to happen, but we object to the current proposals for the following reasons:-
The extension when viewed from our kitchen windows will be visually intrusive and overbearing leading to a significant overshadowing and loss of light to the detriment of our living space.
We have concerns about how the rear of the property will be accessed to enable the construction works to take place as the passageway adjacent to the site is owned by us and the sole means of access to the front doors of 29a and 29b Station Road.
The size of the extension and the proposed building materials are completely out of scale and character to the neighbouring buildings in the conservation area. It is contrary to the policies in the UPD and the LDP which state that such development should preserve and enhance the conservation area. The current proposal does neither as it is too big and overbearing.
