St. Athan and the surrounding area does not not have the capacity or resources to support a housing development of 300 houses. The only improvement I can see on the ammended plans is a roundabout at the Eglwys Brewis junction and the removal of one entrance to the site. The narrow St. Athan to Cowbridge road already supports a large volume of traffic plus the additional traffic expected from the new Aston Martin Plant. My concern is that Flemingston village will become an alternative route to the A48, this already happening in the lower part of the village. As stated in my previous objection there will be an additional strain on the local schools and GP surgeries and I am concerned that further development will be needed to compensate. Allowing 300 houses, with the equivalent in cars and probably 1000 occupants or more to be built on the border of a conservation area and area of special interest cannot hold any benefit other than for those who will benefit financially.
