I am concerned that the application represents an attempt to alter the rural character of the area and will exascerbate problems with the roads which already exist. Flemingston is already used as a rat run and as the speed limit in the village is 60mph cars race through the village at dangerous speeds and this will only get much worse with an additional 600 cars as most families have 2 cars. In the past we have had problems with lorries and fly tipping
The local road system has many problems not least the road through to Cowbridge with many parts single track
The local schools will also struggle to take what could be up to 500 children between primary and secondary age-none of the schools have that sort of capacity
The site is currently a green field and is used by locals for dog walking and the development would be an erosion of the buffer between St Athan and Flemingston which is undesirable in planning terms
