I have great concerns regarding the impact and encroachment on Flemingston which is in a conservation area. The development will lead to an increased volume of traffic that will drive through the village to access the A48, the lower end of the village already being subject to this. This will increase the risk of accidents occuring as some vehicles have been noted to be driving at speed. I question the need for 300 houses to be built on open countryside and how the area will support this development - poor public transport, roads and lanes that are in a poor state of repair and drivers using the narrow lanes to access the A48 which is dangerous at peak times. A development of this size will put additional strain on local amenities such as schools and GP surgeries which are already stretched to capacity. There are a few small local shops and I am concerned this would lead to further development of the area.
