Use of previously undeveloped countryside, which is in a designated Special Landscape Area, is not justified when other brownfield sites are available.
Increased traffic generated by the development will adversely impact on tranquility and character of Flemington Conservation Area by increased use of rural road through village to/from Cardiff. No assessment made of impact of increased traffic flows on roads through Flemingston Village.
There are insufficient employment opportunities in St Athan to sustain additional housing of extent proposed.
Public transport links to employment areas of Bridgend and Cardiff are inadequate and there are no public transport links to Cowbridge.
