I would like to object to the felling of the trees as they are subject to protection orders and I suspect there is no safety justification. The chance of dying of a tree falling each year is about 1 in 10 million whereas the chance of dying during football is approx 1 in 50'000. That being the case one would remove the AstroTurf pitch from Headlands on safety grounds 200x sooner. I think most of the trees are over a fence towards the cliff anyway. I suggest a fully independent assessment of the safety risks is made.
Also there has been a nest of protected Peregrine Falcons on the site for at least 35 years (local ornithological groups could confirm this). I last saw them 6mths ago from the beech. If they have gone that would raise a question of why. If not, then not disturbing them should be an important consideration. If a couple of the trees are particularly dangerous action might sensibly be taken but it seems this action is inordinate. (about 45 proposed for felling now)
