I feel this development is unsuitable as it will completely change the look of the iconic Penarth Headland. Penarth looks very attractive to barrage visitors with the current house but will look as developed and modern as the rest of the bay if these flats are approved.
Additionally the house itself should be listed as it is a last link to Penarth's Batchelor shipowners heritage on the headland - after the main Northcliffe house and Uppercliffe house were demolished for similar private financial reasons.
Thirdly the development of this site will result in the loss of many mature trees and established nature habitats. Development would also destroy a green corridor along the cliff edge and any replanting would not recreate the diversity of wildlife that exists in the current large garden. I hope the council agrees that this development would be a detriment to Penarth and will reject it. Thank you for your time.
